New Mathematica Policy Research Report is now available

August 30, 2016

The report, “Money Follows the Person (MFP) Demonstration: Overview of State Grantee Progress, January to December 2015,” summarizes progress between January and December 2015 by the 44 MFP grantee states (including the District of Columbia) that are actively transitioning MFP participants. The MFP program assists states with rebalancing their Medicaid long-term care systems and helps individuals living in institutions to move to community-based settings. This report presents key indicators of progress, including the number of new enrollees, states’ progress towards 2015 transition goals, long-term services and supports expenditure levels, rates of reinstitutionalization among MFP participants, types of qualified housing for new enrollees, and employment supports and services for MFP participants. During 2015, the 44 MFP grantee states transitioned 11,440 new enrollees, bringing the total number of people that had ever transitioned to the community through MFP to 63,337 at the close of 2015.
