Millions of people in the United States provide essential care for children, aging parents, or loved ones with disabilities. It shouldn’t be this hard to make it work. An ASD Program Member is quoted as follows, ““Paying family members is a huge part of the solution to the workforce shortage,” says Bea Rector, director of Washington’s Home and Community Based Services. “If somebody can choose a person with whom they already have a giving relationship and trust, they’re much more likely to accept the service.
