Self-Direction in the New World Order of Social Programs: An Innovative Opportunity for Community Living

2017 Self-Direction Conference Plenary Session: The need to reconfigure the long-term services and supports (LTSS) service delivery system continues to be a national issue, both for seniors and people with disabilities. It is estimated that 1 in 5 individuals in the US have a condition that does or will need LTSS.

This session focused on the promise and opportunity of a new insurance design for LTSS, and how the inclusion of self-direction as a delivery approach can better integrate services and supports for vulnerable populations across the life continuum.
